The acme of modern architecture. On top, its restaurant is said to be the finest in the land!
The Iron Tower is a Monument and a Food & Drink Venue building which can fulfill the basic need of Tourists and can provide buffs to residences within the circular radius of the tower. It also increases the island's attractiveness by +250 . It requires Tourist Season DLC and can be built only in the Old World (and Cape Trelawney), only one iron tower can be built per island. It requires electricity, access to enough tourist customers and must be provided with appropriate goods. Like other monuments it is built over several stages, with each stage taking time to complete and requiring specific resources and workforce during every construction phase.
Construction[]
The construction of The Iron Tower is divided into three stages. The first stage requires placing the foundation, which is unlocked after reaching 850 Tourists. The next two stages are built over time and require large amounts of construction materials and workforce, to be unlocked they also require reaching specific number of tourists or completing a specific quest in the main questline of the DLC. Materials need to be delivered to the construction site so the iron tower has to be connected to a warehouse or trading post.
When there is not enough free workforce available, the construction can still be continued but at a slower pace, requiring more time to complete the current phase. Workforce can be mobilised to focus on the monument construction, thus shifting the lack of workforce to other buildings that utilise the same workforce type, resulting in lower productivity of those buildings.

Need fulfilment and effect on residences[]
Tourists' basic need for The Iron Tower can be satisfied only via the bus network. Both the tower and a hotel have to be in the circular range of bus stops. The fulfilment level of the need is not determined by the distance between the bus stops, the tower and hotels can be located anywhere on the island as long as they are connected to the bus network.
When Hotels are connected to The Iron Tower, each hotel gains 80 inhabitants and generates more income depending on game settings:
- high income: +843.75 coins per minute per hotel
- medium income: +759.375 coins per minute per hotel
- low income: +675 coins per minute per hotel
The maximum fulfilment of the tourists' need for The Iron Tower can be limited if tourists are unhappy about island's attractiveness, hotspots, newspaper or lack of peace. For more information, see: Tourists Needs.
When residences are within the circular radius of the tower, they are affected by the bonus provided by the active recipe. Each bonus increases the maximum residents amount and reduces consumption of specific goods. Initial radius of the tower is 30 tiles but it can be increased by assigning more tourist customers. Up to 5000 extra tourists can be assigned, increasing the radius linearly up to 105 tiles at 5000 extra customers. Other food & drink venues have priority over The Iron Tower so if extra customers are assigned to the tower but there is a lack of tourists, the effective radius of the tower gets decreased. Available tourists are first assigned to the restaurants, cafés and bars, and only the excess can be then assigned to the tower - the effective radius is based on the excess amount.
Production requirements[]
The Iron Tower fulfills the population's needs and provides all its bonuses only if a few conditions are met:
- Electricity is provided
- Tourist customers are available
- The building is provided with necessary goods
- The building is connected to the bus network
It requires four different input goods and it takes 60 seconds to process 1 ton of every input good so the consumption rate is 1 ton of every input good per minute. Because the tower needs an input, it requires a Warehouse or Trading Post to be located within its range in order to send out carts to transport goods. Alternatively, the tower can be within range of specific production buildings which could deliver required goods they produce directly to the venue.
Recipes[]
Culinary excellence set atop engineering excellence: the pinnacle of the Empire's legacy. Table reservations run months long, and dishes comprise some of the most exotic ingredients known to humankind.
The Iron Tower can work based on five different recipes, three of them are available without additional DLCs, one requires The Passage DLC and another one requires Land of Lions DLC. Each recipe needs different ingredients, while providing different bonuses to nearby residences - increase of maximum residents and reduction of consumption of particular goods. Choice of the recipe has no impact on the fulfilment of the Iron Tower need of Tourists. Each tower can use a different recipe.
Brioche Royale[]
Fluffy, buttery brioche on both top and bottom can scarcely contain the West Atlantic strips of meat within. Is it fine dining? Well, it's a statement, that's for sure — and that can count for a lot at the high end.
Unlock condition:
- If an Iron Tower crowns your city for some time, a cook may create this to mark the occasion!

- or
- Keep Restaurant 'La Reine' open and accessible to your Hotels long enough, and you'll uncage this towering dessert...
Lady Marmelade[]

Unlock condition:
- Progress through the Tourist's questlines to unlock
- or
- Once the Iron Tower has crowned your city, build three new Variety Theatres and produce lemonade to discover sweet success!

Unlock condition:
- Complete the main story in Land of Lions, and you may learn the best-kept secrets of his courtly chefs...
- or
- If you hire a lobsterman in one of your Enbesan Harbour Offices, he may concoct a rather refined dish!
