Contents Table Template & Modularization of major articles
The new table under the Contents heading can be found and edited on Template:Main_Page_Contents. I included all currently active pages in the table, partly for completeness sake, partly for navigation, but also partly to encourage visitors to contribute to the wiki, by exposing insufficiently detailed articles. Aesthetic considerations are not my strength, so if you feel the table could be organized better, feel free to edit the template.
This modularization of the article into separate pages is useful for keeping small adjustments from affecting other sections of the article, and adding a barrier to simple-minded vandals trying to mess up the content of the article since the module, which contains the contents, is not directly accessible to edit.
This is especially important on the front page, which must remain readable, accessible, and informative for non-wiki editors at all times, even if parts of the article are under construction or development.
I recommend extending this practice to all major popular and reference articles, such as Population, Buildings, and Production_chains, in the long run. Currently, however, the contents are still under active development, and as such modularization is not appropriate since it will, partly by design, impede editing flexibility.
