Seeds of Change is the eleventh Anno 1800 DLC and was released on April 12, 2022. It is the first DLC of the Season 4 Pass. Its main addition is a 
Hacienda which can act as an agricultural hub of the New World islands. It is a modular building with more efficient jornalero and obrero residences, farms and breweries. It can influence buildings across the island with one of its policies, it also allows to produce a fertiliser from animal farms, which can be used to boost crop farms in any region. The DLC also adds hacienda ornaments and a scenario Seasons of Silver, about Vasco Oliveira's punishment for his failures during his service for La Corona.
Content of the DLC[]
The main addition of Seeds of Change DLC are haciendas and their modules, available after reaching 
Obreros. Hacienda is a building which can be constructed only once per island, it acts as a warehouse and a hub of a modular agricultural system which can include jornalero and obrero quarters, crop farms, breweries and fertiliser works. All the modules have to be built within hacienda's radius, which gets bigger, the more population lives on the island. Hacienda can also affect buildings across the entire island via one of its available policies.
Jornalero and obrero quarters are larger than regular residences and have additional basic needs but also have doubled capacity. Hacienda farms can produce some of the typical New World agricultural products and they need significantly lower number of modules. They can work even when the island does not have appropriate fertilities and can also produce potatoes and grain, which otherwise are available for production only in Old World. Hacienda breweries are not big in size, can produce rum and new goods like hot sauce, as well as some Old World goods: schnapps and beer.
Haciendas also include fertiliser works which produce fertiliser utilising animal farms within radius. The fertiliser can be used at fertiliser silos built right next to crop farms in order to improve their productivity. Fertiliser silos can be constructed at all kinds of crop farms, including hacienda farms and farms in other regions.
The DLC also gives access to hacienda ornaments, fitting the style of the hacienda and its modules. It also adds Seasons of Silver scenario, in which Vasco Oliveira tries to redeem himself after failing to secure the Sceptre of Capon for La Corona. His job is to fulfill La Corona's demands for silver coins, while producing them in a remote part of New World, where the seasons and weather are harsh.
Overall the DLC adds the following elements:
- Hacienda – an agricultural hub available in New World, acting as a warehouse and affecting buildings across the island with one of its policies
- Hacienda modules – jornalero quarters and obrero quarters with additional new needs, hacienda farm, hacienda brewery, fertiliser works, hacienda storeroom and two types of ornamental roads, they all have to be placed within the range of a hacienda
- Fertiliser Silos – crop farms modules which consume fertiliser, improving the productivity of crop farms in exchange
- New goods and production chains –
