Samba School is a Production and a Public Service building, which when provided with Costumes fulfills the luxury need for residences of one population tier in the New World: Artistas; and the lifestyle need for residences of another population tier in the New World: Obreros. It requires New World Rising DLC.

Like every public building the samba school can affect only those buildings which are connected to it by roads and are placed within its range. The strength of its effects is based on the street distance between the affected building and the samba school. Its full range (dark green) is 48 tiles for dirt roads and 71 for paved streets. Its max range (light green) is 98 tiles for dirt roads and 146 for paved streets.
When Obrero Residences are in the full range of the samba school, each of them gains 2 inhabitants and generates more income depending on game settings:
- high income: +3.5 coins per minute per residence
- medium income: +3.15 coins per minute per residence
- low income: +2.8 coins per minute per residence
When Hacienda Obrera Quarters are in the full range of the samba school, each of them gains 2 inhabitants and generates more income depending on game settings:
- high income: +7 coins per minute per residence
- medium income: +6.3 coins per minute per residence
- low income: +5.6 coins per minute per residence
When Artista Residences are in the full range of the samba school, each of them gains 4 happiness and generates more income depending on game settings:
- high income: +15 coins per minute per residence
- medium income: +13.5 coins per minute per residence
- low income: +12 coins per minute per residence
When Hacienda Artista Quarters are in the full range of the samba school, each of them gains 4 happiness and generates more income depending on game settings:
- high income: +33.75 coins per minute per residence

When residences are outside of the full range but inside the max range they gain less inhabitants, less happiness and generate less income based on the street distance from the samba school.
Production requirements[]
Samba school fulfills the population's need only if appropriate workforce is available and only if the building is provided with Costumes. It takes 120 seconds (2 minutes) to process 1 ton of costumes so the consumption rate is 0.5 tons of costumes per minute. The full production chain including samba schools is shown below. Because the school needs an input, it requires a Warehouse or Trading Post to be located within its range in order to send out carts to transport costumes (its range with regards to carts is 49 tiles for dirt roads and 73 tiles for paved streets). Alternatively, the samba school can be within range of a Costume Shop which could deliver produced costumes directly to the school.
