Anno 1800 is a city-builder game developed by Ubisoft's Blue Byte studio and published by Ubisoft. It was released on 16 April 2019.
Anno 1800 is the seventh installment of the Anno series, following Anno 2205.
Overview[]
Anno 1800 spans the 19th century at the dawn of the Industrial Age. The game features a story campaign, a sandbox mode, and multiplayer mode. Like Anno 2205, the game includes multi-session gameplay, though unlike its predecessor, combat and city-building sessions are not separated. Furthermore, randomly generated maps, AI opponents that build on the same map as the player, in addition to shippable trade goods and items make a return from the previous installments of the series.

After backlash from fans over the reduced complexity and replay-ability of Anno 2205, the developers decided that the seventh installment of the series should return to the series' historical roots, both feature-wise and setting-wise[1]. Anno 1800 started pre-production during Spring 2017, was announced at Gamescom that year, and was released on 16 April 2019.
The game was announced early on purpose, in order to give long-time fans of the series a chance to participate in the development process and give feedback on the game.[2] To that end, Blue Byte created a community website called the Anno Union, which is used to post development updates and polls about the game's content.
