Export/Import feature available in Docklands DLC is based on exchange ratios. The exchange ratio determines the amount of goods one needs to export in order to get a particular amount of imported goods. The ratio is based on fixed exchange values for each good, which are derived from their production chains. This page lists all of those values and explains the exact formula for the exchange ratio.
Exchange Ratios Calculator[]
Use the calculator below to calculate the exchange ratio between two different goods.
- Enter the names of goods to export and import - you can use the dropdown menu to select the good; you can also start typing a part of the name of the good to limit the list of the dropdown menu.
- Select the exporter level of the exported good - based on its position in the specialty exports pyramid.
- Optionally you can insert the number of tons you want to be exported or imported; if you don't insert any numbers, the calculation will be done based on 500 tons of exported good.
- Use the "Calculate" button to obtain the result, and "Clear" button to empty all input fields and to set the exporter level to common (default level).
Important!
The calculator is available only on the desktop version of the website. If you are using a mobile device and do not see the calculator, check the options of the browser you are using to switch the website into the desktop version.
Ratios Formula[]
For a given import good and an export good , the exchange ratio can be calculated as follows:
- : the exchange value of goods . They are fixed for each good and listed in the table below.
- : the import good multiplier. They are fixed for each good and listed in the table below.
- : the export good multiplier. It depends on the position of good in the specialty exports pyramid, as explained here.
Depending on whether the export good is more or less valuable than the import good, the ratio is displayed differently:
- : more tons of goods are exported than imported and the ratio is displayed as .
- : less tons of goods are exported than imported and the ratio is displayed as .
Import multipliers depend on the rarity of the good for import, export multpliers depend on the exporter level of the specialty slot which the good is in. In both cases the rarity of the good or its slot in the pyramid indicate the multiplier in accordance to the following table:

Exchange Values Formula[]
The formula for the exchange value is recursively defined based on the input goods and key characteristics of the factory. For a given good there is one main factory defined that produces it. The main factory determines the set of input resources (if any) used to produce . The formula used to calculate the exchange value is as follows:
- : the exchange values of input goods of the factory
- : the total area of the factory, including modules in case of farms or all tiles within the influence radius for buildings which utilise trees around them (like lumberjack's huts)
- : the base production cycle time in minutes
- : the amount of workforce required by the factory
- : the workforce type modifier
- : the region modifier
- : the factory type modifier
