Crafting is one of the sources of items, which is available in Sunken Treasures DLC and The Passage DLC. Using scrap and different goods you can create items designed by Old Nate. Both DLCs include a separate pool of craftable items. Besides crafting those items can be obtained only from Old Nate's quests.

Crafting each item requires a specific type of scrap and specific goods. You need to have all materials on board of a ship located near Old Nate's workshop in appropriate region. To create an item select the ship close to the workshop and filled with necessary materials, click on the crafting button, choose which item you want to make and confirm your choice.

In case of Sunken Treasures DLC the Old Nate's workshop is located on his island in Cape Trelawney. Three types of scrap are required to create items:

The better rarity of the item, the better scrap is required. Scrap can be obtained via diving in any region or passive trade in Cape Trelawney from Old Nate's ships arriving to your islands located in that region.

In case of The Passage DLC the Old Nate's workshop is located in The Arctic within his airship near one of the small non-habitable icebergs west of King William Island. Only one type of scrap is required to create his Arctic items: Lost Expedition Scrap. This type of scrap can be obtained by using airships to retrieve lost expedition cargo scattered on the glacier in the northern part of the Arctic.
