Does solid damage to enemies at long range, with good all-round defense.
Cannon Tower is a Harbour Building and one of the defence turrets which attacks enemy ships located within its range and line of sight. It can be built in every region, it requires free harbour area, does not need any road connection. After construction or relocation, one minute needs to pass to train fusiliers, only after this time the cannon tower can start attacking enemies.
Properties and usage[]
Cannon tower is the second defence turret in the game. It has medium damage and medium attack speed, but long attack range and high hitpoints. It is a decent defence turret with no noticeable strengths or weaknesses.
Because of their good all-round defensive capabilities, cannon towers can be successfully used as the main defence of an island. They are decent against all kinds of ships but other defence turrets can also be used in order to better prepare the defences for specific types of enemy fleets.
Cannon towers can be outranged by battle cruisers equipped with items which increase attack range by at least 10% and by ships-of-the-line with items which increase attack range by at least 40%. However, with only 10% increase positioning battle cruisers in a safe spot while still reaching a cannon tower can be difficult so at least 15% increased attack range is recommended.
