Biniam is a non-player character (NPC) in Anno 1800 that the player meets during the Land of Lions DLC storyline.

Biniam works in the service of Emperor Ketema and is his personal advisor. He comes from the island of Waha Desher, his mother is Kyria.
Biniam describes himself as having received an excellent education at the University of Arvurd. He is educated, sociable and familiar with the customs and traditions of the Old World. Biniam is very sure of himself and can become quick-tempered and take matters into his own hands, as can be seen in the conflict between Enbesa and the Old World in the Enbesa main quest. Later in the questline, Biniam (and therefore the player) finds out that his father is Sir Archibald Blake, who was stationed in Enbesa as a lieutenant a long time ago. Blake and Kyria had a secret love affair and Biniam is the product of this love. This also explains how Biniam's expensive education could be financed, as Blake left Kyria a large sum of money when he was withdrawn from Enbesa.
Following his academic background, Biniam's main goal is to promote research and science. Thus, during the peace negotiations between Blake and Ketema, he suggests founding a Research Institute in the Old World - this is how the 
Scholars in the Land of Lions DLC are ultimately unlocked.
