Bank is a Public Service building, which fulfills the luxury need for residences of two population tiers in Old World (and Cape Trelawney):
Engineers and
Investors. It is unlocked upon reaching 3000 engineers, which is 1250 engineers more than necessary to be able to advance to investors. Reaching investors unlocks the need for the bank but does not unlock the ability to build it.

Like every public building the bank can affect only those buildings which are connected to it by roads and are placed within its range. The strength of its effects is based on the street distance between the affected building and the bank. Its full range (dark green) is 43 tiles for
dirt roads and 64 for
paved streets. Its max range (light green) is 88 tiles for dirt roads and 131 for paved streets.
When
Engineer Residences are in the full range of the bank, each of them gains 2 happiness and generates more income depending on game settings:
- high income: +50 coins per minute per residence
- medium income: +45 coins per minute per residence
- low income: +40 coins per minute per residence
When
Investor Residences are in the full range of the bank, each of them gains 2 happiness and generates more income depending on game settings:
- high income: +125 coins per minute per residence
- medium income: +112.5 coins per minute per residence
- low income: +100 coins per minute per residence
When residences are outside of the full range but inside the max range they gain less happiness and generate less income based on the street distance from the bank.
