Admiral Vicente Silva is one of the three expanding, AI controlled characters of "Expert" difficulty, alongside Alonso Graves and Lady Margaret Hunt.

Background[]

Vicente is Admiral and the main representative to the La Corona Empire.

Where the player and the campaign's protagonist serve an unnamed kingdom led by The Queen, the empire of La Corona is implied to be a separate, rival nation which is ruled over by an Emperor.

While Vicente himself is La Corona's more capable servants, the empire itself seems to be in dire straits, much to Vicente's continual exasperation. Many of his quests deal with mutinies, lost battle and finding enough valuable metals to stamp medals.

La Corona seems heavily based on the equally crumbling Spanish Empire of the real world's 1800's. Jean La Fortune is made happy by declaring war on Vicente, and comments that his people have suffered under the Empire. The rebellion that Isabel Sarmento and your Obrero workforce mention, is likely one against that same empire of La Corona.

Vicente himself approves of harsh working hours for your people and likes the use of propaganda, so there's little wonder as to why the New World would be rebelling against La Corona, or Vicente's iron-handed approach to colonial rule.

Strategy[]

Despite not building or expanding his company as quickly as Margaret Hunt, Vicente grows in strength steadily and competently during the course of a game. Though he's a conqueror at heart and will turn into a substantial military threat, Vicente is far more reliable than either the dangerously unpredictable Alonso Graves or the treacherous Margaret Hunt. Vicente is likely to respect your reputation with him and as long as it is good, he'll keep the peace between you and find someone else to pick a fight with. He also approves of you going to war against worthy opponents.

Having your own military presence will of course help dissuade him from declaring war, doubly so since he respects strength in others.

Diplomacy[]
